You know the saying, “when you look good, you feel good?” I think a similar idea applies to working out! I’m not a big fan of the gym–the sweating, baggy clothes, and feeling wholly unkempt are usually a pretty good deterrent for me, to be honest. That being said, I know it’s something I *should* be doing, so I find little tricks to make myself a little more motivated!
For me, having the right equipment is essential when working out, and I don’t mean equipping yourself with free weights, a treadmill, or yoga mat (though those do help sometimes)! Above all, regardless of exercise routine, you need the right outfit, and every good outfit starts with a good foundation.
One of the most difficult articles of clothing for me to find as a plus size woman, is a good sport bra that functions well, while still being aesthetically pleasing. Enter the new sport bra from Vanity Fair, which is the definition of form meets function! The bras are available with and without an underwire (I prefer with), made of moisture-wicking material, and have thick, supportive straps to minimize bounce. I have hit the gym without the right sport bra and definitely paid the price, so I’ll definitely be stocking up on these!
I love the bright, vibrant color! It’s small touches like these that set these bras apart from your typical black and gray!
In addition to a great sport bra, I also swear by great pair of workout shoes, a cute towel for all that sweating, and always, always remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!
