DRESS UP

I firmly believe that you are never too old to play dress up!

[ :: The Girl That Loves tutu skirt (custom sizes available!) :: H&M top (similar crop top) :: Forever 21 deco necklace :: ]

[ :: Michael Kors heels (similar heels) :: Jason Wu for Target satchel (similar straw satchel) :: ]I feel like we spend so much time thinking about what we *should* wear, rather than what we *want* to wear, whether it’s what’s appropriate for the office, what is on-trend or in style, or annoyingly, what is most ~flattering.

When I’m putting together an outfit, I’m usually doing so with a purpose in mind–lunch with friends, running errands, shopping, date night. But to be honest, sometimes you just love an item, even if you have no “practical” place to wear it. So with this look, I’m throwing practicality to the wind! I’m absolutely in love with this skirt–it reminds me of playing dress up as a kid, and the whimsical vibe is just what I needed to stop taking myself so seriously.

What was the last piece of clothing you absolutely fell in love with, even if it had no practical place in your closet? I want to know!
XO ALLISON

Cool idea to match the tutu with a striped crop top. I don´t think this would have ever crossed my mind. But I love it and so much love your tutu too!

Is the waist on the skirt elastic or structured with a zipper? You look great!

Love this look – it's something I would wear top-to-bottom. I've been thinking about picking up a black and white striped tee to go with my flouncy skirts. Of course I'm the sort of person who would have numerous tulle skirts but not have a staple like a striped tee…Anyways! Such a chic, feminine look!

That skirt is so cute! How do you determine if I crop top will work on a plus-sized frame?

This skirt is so dreamy, cute, and stylish. Then too, an equally cute cropped top and stylish sandals don't hurt either. You've always had such a cute face, sweet smile, and lovely hairstyle- all of which are no different in this set of pictures. Angelic Allison allure and awesomeness.
