TRIBAL PRINTS 3 WAYS: From Basics to Statements

Curvy Girl Chic Target Ava & Viv Tribal Print Outfits

On a quest to show you guys tribal prints aren’t only for festival looks!

When I think of tribal prints, I always think of Coachella-bound girls with fringe-y kimonos, flower crowns, and John Lennon shades. While that’s totally a look I love, in this post, I’m partnering with Target Style to share a few looks styling tribal print pieces in everyday ways, which is perfect for upgrading basic pieces to statement looks! If you don’t have any tribal prints in your wardrobe, these tops from the Ava & Viv line are a great way to jump into the trend!

A great leather skirt is a must in any wardrobe, but usually only styled during fall and winter. A fun way to make it summer-ready is to pair it with a fun tribal print top! I love this bold graphic option in green and blue. The navy embroidery at the neckline is such a nice touch! I opted for sleek pumps and a textured clutch to keep the look put together.

For a playful but polished tribal print outfit, try mixing patterns like I did in this look! Since the color palette was kept simple, the mix of prints isn’t overwhelming. If you’re not a fan of print mixing, just pair your favorite tribal top with skinny or boyfriend jeans! It’s an easy, laid back look, perfect for a casual day out. I added a bright pink clutch for a little color, and a statement necklace to up the drama!

If the Coachella look is more your thing but you want to make it more everyday-appropriate, try out a muted palette of greys and pinks! The combination is girly but not over the top, and the burnout details on the tank add just a touch of edginess. Cutoffs are the ideal counterpart to this slouchy tank, and a satin-y kimono is the perfect brunch-to-beach topper!
