Hi babes! This season has brought back all of my favorite classics–tailored jackets, boots, and classic patterns like checks and plaids! Plaid and tweed are always classic, but are particularly on trend this season! You can bet that these will be returning in a big way, with everything from glen plaid blazers, to classic tweed overcoats, and even head-to-toe, menswear-inspired, checked suiting making the rounds.
I popped into Nordstrom last weekend to see what’s new and pick up a few pieces to update my fall wardrobe with. I knew I wanted to get something plaid since I don’t have much of it in my wardrobe already! When I caught sight of this blazer, I thought it would be PERFECT for this season, dressed down with skinny jeans and boots! I love the double breasted cut and the red contrast stitching. I opted to pair the blazer with a silky cream top, dark skinny jeans, and tan ankle boots since they’re pieces that most people probably already have in their closets. The blazer also has a pair of matching plaid pants if head-to-toe suiting is more your style! Since I can’t go without a little bit of sparkle, I also picked up a long bezel necklace that would be perfect layered with other pieces as well, and a tan crossbody bag from Madewell with a second strap adds that extra something I really love!
