Shopping Spotlight: Wide Width Summer Sandals

May 7, 2012 by CurvyGirlChic 13 Comments

I love shoes. They’re supposed to be the great equalizer in fashion, after all! Everyone, regardless of size, can rock the hottest heel, right? WRONG. I guess I have fat feet too, because most shoes are too narrow for me. Major bummer. As a size 10W shoe, it can be really hard to find womens wide fitting shoes that fit well and DON’T look like something my grandmother would wear.

Here are some faves on my summer sandal lust list!

Do any of you guys have the same problem finding shoes that are wide enough without looking frumpy? what are some of your favorite places to find shoes? 😀

Love the selection of shoes. Finding shoes to fit my wide feet is a real pain. There's not a lot of selection on the UK high street, apart from New Look, and Evans (who's designs are mostly frumpy and boring). Are Torrid's wide fit shoes actually generous?

It's such a nightmare, isn't it?? Especially for summer. I can deal with boots and pumps being a little snug but sandals are a whole different story!

Torrid's shoes are pretty generous! They do sell medium width shoes though, so make sure the ones you purchase actually say "Wide Width!" 🙂

Hmmm! I totally understand the problem. I don't have wide feet, but at size 11, it can get very hard to find stylish shoes. I can sometimes swing a 10 if the toe is open, since the length is in my arch, rather than my toes.

Great pics! I love #2 especially.

I have the same "problem." It's so hard to find nice shoes, especially here in the Philippines where the biggest size is usually 9. And for someone who has size 10 W feet, it is always a challenge to find a pair that's trendy and comfy at the same time.

Don't feel bad because I wear a 12 W! I have double trouble finding shoes. They tend to be ugly, cheap quality or way too expensive. That's why I usually end up at Torrid, The Avenue or other plus size stores to buy my shoes. Thanks for reminding me about Evans as well! I'm in love with all of those wedges and I love 8 and 9!

You won't believe this, but in the US, Easy Spirit,, usually the haven of frump, has started carrying cute, affordable shoes in all widths. I am in LOVE with number 2 up there!

I just ran across your blog today, loving what I am seeing! I have the same problem finding shoes… Have you tried Zappos.com? Just set the search to wide and choose your size, tons of shoes, many different styles! Also Torrid, they have a huge selection of high heels and platform shoes in wide… and their boots!!!! Last winter was the first time in my life I was able to wear high boots thanks to Torrid.
