PLUS SIZE WORK OUTFIT

I won’t lie, it can be hard to feel fashion-forward in work outfits. Depending on your career field and workplace environment, you may not get to experiment much with prints or color, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still look cute! For me, it’s all about mixing it up with subtle patterns and textures. LOFT is the perfect one-stop-shop for workwear since they have such a great variety of tops, blazers, skirts, and dresses to complete your 9-5 wardrobe! Even before they carried plus sizes, I would scour their site for pieces available in their then-largest size, an XXL or 18 since I loved their clothing options so much! Now that they’ve expanded their size range to include plus (sizes 16 to 26), the vast majority of my Monday to Friday wardrobe comes from LOFT! The sizing for LOFT is cut specifically for plus size women, rather than being sized up. For example, the size 16 in regular is a straighter cut than a size 16 in plus, which accommodates a curvier shape!

Since a blazer is a workplace essential for me, I opted to showcase something other than your typical black or navy. This plaid knit blazer is equal parts professional and updated, as well as super comfortable to wear (hellooo stretchy knit). I really appreciate the quality construction and fabric, too! Since the color palette here is on the simple side, I thought it would be fun to mix prints with the (again, subtle), pattern on the skirt. This flippy skirt is also knit and super comfortable for all day wear, which is essential if you’ll be sitting most of the day! I really appreciate that the fabric doesn’t wrinkle easily, too. There’s nothing worse than getting up for an afternoon meeting just to find that your clothes are totally wrinkled! The layered cami under the blazer is a new favorite piece of mine since it’s simple but still has interest because of the scalloped neckline. The layered chiffon fabric is also perfect for Cali weather since you won’t overheat under the blazer!
