NEW YEAR, NEW DENIM

Happy 2021 guys!! I’m so excited 2020 is finally over, and while not too much has changed, it feels like a fresh start, and I’m embracing the possibilities of the new year! One of my key fashion takeaways from 2020 is that comfort is KEY. If it isn’t comfortable, I probably won’t get a lot of wear out of it! That being said, I want to find pieces that are put together and cute, not *just* comfy! After all, when you look good, you feel good! And after the year we’ve had, we need all the self care we can get. 🙂

With that in mind, I’ve been eyeing some new arrivals and ended up picking this look from maurices! The jeans are their DenimFlex™ High Rise Super Soft Jeggings and they are SO soft. I bought them in the extra short length since I typically wear a short inseam but wanted to wear them with taller ankle boots. The length works perfectly! If I were buying them to wear with flats or sneakers, I would opt for my usual short length. I’m so impressed that these are offered in FIVE different lengths–extra short, short, regular, long, and extra long. I added this cute double ring buckle belt for a little interest and I have to say, I love the way it looks with the jeggings!

I also picked up this super cute quilted jacket–the color is perfect for transitioning from winter into spring, and the thicker material means it’s warm enough for California winters! I layered it over a cream sweater (exact one is sold out but I’ll link a different colorway below )and finished the look with these super cute pink hiking boots! The boots, while they’re regular width, are actually wide enough for my wide feet plus socks! Plus, they’re so comfortable to wear because of the chunky, moderate heel. 🙂 I wore this out to get a little socially distanced fresh air (also self care) and it was perfect for our chilly weather!
