Lane Bryant T3 Denim Review

While attending the FFFWeek Lane Bryant Blogger Conference in New York, I was thrilled to see that they were revamping their denim offerings with a new line of jeans! T3, which stands for Tighter Tummy Technology, boasts a built in elastic waist that doesn’t actually look like elastic. It’s also got some mesh-y inner lining where your stomach would be. The design itself is sort of hard to explain but trust me–it’s pretty cool. The jeans claim to mold perfectly to the body, eliminating muffin-top, and definitely making for a comfortable pair of jeans.
As a bit of a denim junkie, I was super excited when Lane Bryant got in contact to have me review a pair of the T3 jeans. Upon receipt of the jeans I was glad to find that they had stuck to a simple, dark wash with a slightly flared cut.
Pros:
  • These jeans fit amazingly at the waist, though for overall size, you could probably size down for a snug fit.
  • The wash is a perfectly dark, classic wash, and the length is good for people who prefer flats. I typically wear a 32″ inseam if I’m wearing flats, and would only need to tailor these slightly.
  • The high rise of the jeans does a great job of eliminating muffin-top, and is quite good job at “sucking you in,” if you’re concerned about tummy issues.
  • The innovative stretch design minimizes gaping at the rear. Even though it isn’t an issue for me since I don’t have much of a rear end, the Lane Bryant Conference’s T3 demo definitely showed that the T3 technology was successful.
Cons:
  • As someone who prefers her jeans on the fitted side, I wish the leg had been cut more narrow. It’s a personal preference, but I just like my jeans that way.
  • Similarly, I wish the jeans had a longer inseam. I prefer to pair my jeans with my highest heels or wedges, and these are cut way a bit too short for me to do so.
  • The rise of this jean is extremely high (we’re talking up to my natural waist–2 or 3 inches above my navel). The high rise is good for “sucking in,” but I find it a little restrictive, especially if you’re wearing these somewhere you’ll be sitting for a long time. Rise is just another preference though!

Overall, I think the design of the T3 jeans is totally genius–the denim’s elastic waist is comfortable without looking maternity, and I love that the LB design team has kept the washes classic. I really hope the LB team releases some new cuts–I’d love to have these jeans in a lower rise and maybe a skinny leg or a flare with a longer inseam!

Tell me: have any of your tried out T3 denim for yourselves? I’m curious to know what you think! If you haven’t are these jeans something you’d want to try? Let me know! ♥

Yours, Etc.

Great review! The loser cut of the leg and the higher rise are what I really LOVE in a good pair of jeans… now I just need to get me some!

Looking good! I've been admiring the earrings. We've no Lane Bryant in Singapore so unfortunately, great review but no way of getting it!

Great review! I was in debate about trying them out. Now I would at least take them in the dressing room for a nice fitting. Thanks!

Great outfit! I agree with you about liking my jeans with a narrower cut unless they're like boyfriend jeans. And I'd probably want longer inseams being 5'10" and all. Thanks for doing a review! I like them a lot and hope to see more!!

In an older post you mention leopard print boots and the price was crazy. Charlotterusse.com has simular boots under $40.00 bucks. Love reading your blog, thought I'd let you know 🙂

Great Jeans. I got a pair of these along with Capri this Spring. They really help with MAS (middle aged spread). Material seems like they will last forever too (spendy).

Love your Earnings. Where can I get a pair for Wife.

great review! i tried on the T3 over the weekend, and i had similar thoughts as you. i think you tried on the boot cut, btw. the t3 also comes in a flare that fits closer on the leg. the t3 boot is the first boot i actaully like on me, tho! also, and while i have to say i LOVE the longer average inseam for when i do like to wear flats or tennies (their other averages are just too short!), they DO come in a tall, which is perfect for rockin' out those heels!

i have to say, though, i'm pretty impressed with LB denim lately. like most ladies, denim shopping is SO aggravating, but I know I can always find something at LB for my shape.
